The Forsythe Company

With the founding of The Forsythe Company in 2005, William Forsythe created a new, agile structure within which to further pursue the multi-faceted creative work begun with Ballett Frankfurt. Together with an ensemble of 16 dancers, he carries forward the intensive collaborative processes developed in 30 years, producing works in the areas of performance, installation, film, and educational media. As of summer 2013, Christopher Roman bacame the Associate Artistic Director of The Forsythe Company.

Following the tenth anniversary of the company’s founding, internationally acclaimed choreographer Jacopo Godani will become the ensemble’s artistic director beginning with the 2015/2016 season. William Forsythe will continue to support the company as an artistic advisor for performances and the ongoing development of pieces in the company’s repertoire that he originally created.

The Forsythe Company is supported by the city of Dresden and the state of Saxony as well as the city of Frankfurt am Main and the state of Hesse. The Forsythe Company is Company-in-Residence of both HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts in Dresden and the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main.

With special thanks to the ALTANA Kulturstiftung for supporting The Forsythe Company.
